The Supplemental Security Income November payout is arriving early this year, and millions of Americans are searching for the exact date. Because 1 November falls on a Sunday, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is sending the November SSI payment on Friday, 30 October 2026 instead. The payment is worth up to $994 for an individual, and it is the main reason the topic is one of the most searched in the United States today.

Supplemental Security Income November payout: why it arrives on 30 October

SSI is normally paid on the 1st of each month. When the 1st falls on a weekend or a federal holiday, the SSA moves the payment to the last business day of the previous month. That is exactly what happens this November: 1 November 2026 is a Sunday, so the November payment goes out on 30 October. Recipients do not need to do anything to receive it early; the change is automatic.

The same rule sets the rest of the winter schedule. The December SSI payment is due on 1 December 2026, and the January 2027 payment is due on 31 December 2026, because 1 January is a holiday. Anyone who relies on these payments should mark those dates now, because the early payments can make budgeting across the month-end confusing. Who gets the November SSI payment and how much is it

Supplemental Security Income supports people with limited income who are blind, aged 65 or older, or living with a qualifying disability. The November payment is worth up to $994 for an individual filer, up to $1,491 for couples filing jointly, and up to $498 for people who provide essential care to an SSI recipient. The exact amount varies with each person’s circumstances, so not everyone receives the maximum.

Recipients must also meet the programme’s residence rules. They must be US citizens or noncitizens in a Department of Homeland Security alien classification, live in one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia or the Northern Mariana Islands, and must not be absent from the United States for a full calendar month or 30 consecutive days. The Washington Examiner reports the payment details and the eligibility rules in full.

Supplemental Security Income November payout and the rest of October’s dates

The SSI date is not the only payment landing this week. The final regular October Social Security payment is due on Wednesday, 28 October, for beneficiaries whose birthdays fall between the 21st and the 31st of the month. The SSA pays on a Wednesday schedule by birth date: the second Wednesday for birthdays on the 1st to the 10th, the third Wednesday for the 11th to the 20th, and the fourth Wednesday for the 21st to the 31st. People who began receiving Social Security before May 1997 follow a different schedule, and people who receive both Social Security and SSI generally get Social Security on the 3rd and SSI on the 1st.

Some retirees receive far more than the SSI maximum. Newsweek notes that Social Security payments can reach $5,181 a month for someone who earned the taxable maximum every year from age 22 and retired at 70. Under the same earnings record, the maximum would be $4,152 at full retirement age and $2,969 at age 62. Workers can start benefits at 62 at a reduced rate, and delayed retirement credits can raise benefits until age 70. Workers generally need 40 Social Security credits, typically about ten years of work, and in 2026 one credit is earned for every $1,890 in covered earnings, up to four credits a year.

What changes in 2027: the 3.6% COLA rise

The October payments still reflect the 2026 cost-of-living adjustment of 2.8%, but a bigger rise is coming. On 14 October, the SSA announced a 3.6% cost-of-living adjustment for 2027, affecting about 76 million Americans: nearly 72 million Social Security beneficiaries from January, and about 7.3 million SSI recipients from 31 December 2026. The average monthly benefit for retired workers is estimated to rise by around $75 a month. Our earlier report on the Social Security COLA increase for 2027 explains who benefits most.

The COLA announcement is the reason many recipients are also checking their payment dates now. COLA notices will be viewable online from late November, or sent by mail in December. Until then, the payment calendar is the most useful thing to check, and the Meyka US stock screener and US most-active stocks pages track how markets are reacting to the wider economic picture.

What to do if your Supplemental Security Income November payout does not arrive

If a payment does not arrive on the expected date, the SSA advises waiting three additional mailing days before contacting it. Most delays resolve themselves, and calling too early rarely speeds anything up. USA Today sets out the full October payment schedule and the three-day waiting advice.

Anyone who has recently changed their bank details or address should check that the SSA holds the correct information, because a failed direct deposit is the most common reason a payment goes missing. The SSA’s own online portal is the fastest way to confirm payment details, and it also shows the 2027 COLA notice when it becomes available in late November.
