Samsung’s One UI 8.5 rollout is now active, and the confirmed device list is growing fast. As of May 23, 2026, Samsung has started pushing the stable update to several Galaxy phones and tablets across select markets.

The rollout began on May 6, 2026, first in Korea, before expanding to more regions and models in the following weeks. Samsung says availability still depends on country, model number, carrier approval, and firmware channel, so not every user will receive it on the same day.

The update is based on Android 16 and brings visual refinements, deeper customization, Galaxy AI improvements, Quick Share upgrades, security changes, and app-level updates. Samsung also expects the rollout to reach more than 300 million Galaxy devices in the coming months, which shows this is only the early phase.

One UI 8.5 Rollout Started With Flagship Galaxy Models

Samsung started the One UI 8.5 rollout with its latest flagship families, which follows its usual update pattern. The Galaxy S25 series is part of the first wave, including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 FE. These models sit closest to Samsung’s current premium software roadmap, so their early inclusion was expected.

Samsung’s 2024 flagships have also joined the stable rollout. The Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and Galaxy S24 FE started receiving the update around May 18, 2026. The Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Galaxy S23 FE have also started receiving the update in select markets. That matters because the S23 series remains popular through discounts, imports, and long software support.

Foldables, A-Series, And Tablets Join One UI 8.5

Samsung has also pushed One UI 8.5 to several foldable devices. The confirmed list includes Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, Galaxy Z TriFold, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. These devices are newer or premium models, so they remain important in Samsung’s software cycle.

The rollout has also reached mid-range phones, which is an important shift. Galaxy A56 and Galaxy A36 have started receiving the stable update, making the A-series part of the early expansion. On the tablet side, the confirmed list includes Galaxy Tab S11 series, Galaxy Tab S10 FE, and Galaxy Tab S10 FE+. This shows Samsung is moving beyond flagships, although rollout timing still depends heavily on region and model variant.

This list is not final. Samsung says the update will reach more Galaxy devices in the coming months, so older eligible phones may still appear later. However, not every device that received One UI 8 will automatically get One UI 8.5. Samsung’s half-step updates often skip some older or lower-end models while they continue receiving security patches.

How To Check The Update On Your Galaxy Device

Checking for One UI 8.5 is simple. Open Settings, tap Software update, then select Download and install. Samsung also recommends keeping device software and related apps updated before using new One UI features. Use Wi-Fi, keep the battery charged, and avoid interrupting installation during the update process.

If the update does not appear, your phone has not necessarily been excluded. Samsung releases major updates in stages. Two users with the same Galaxy model can receive the update on different dates because their units may come from different markets, carriers, or firmware channels. That is normal for Samsung’s global rollout system.
